Huawei will make everything official next month, but we already know how its upcoming flagship duo enhances photography.

The Mate 20 series introduces a triple-camera setup that bundles together three different types of lenses. Between the two models Huawei has on the horizon, there shouldn’t be anything but superb photos and videos taken by these high-end phones.

A new teaser video, which was posted on social media, showcases the triple-camera setup’s layout. It also aligns with previous leaks; therefore, Huwaei’s definitely pushing ahead with this idea. There’s no doubt the Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro will ship with three lenses on the back.

Here’s the clip, courtesy of Huawei:

The triple-camera setup should leverage multiple technologies. Together, the primary and monochrome lenses will stitch together two shots from the same moment. While the primary lens collects color, the monochrome lens grabs details.

If you take closeup pictures or want to focus on specific objects, the telephoto lens will come in handy. It’s the type of lens that enables portrait mode on various mobile devices.

Although the two models will have triple-camera setups, the specific lenses aren’t likely to be identical. Rumors have suggested the 40MP primary lens on the Mate 20 Pro will drop to 20MP on the Mate 20. The monochrome lens, too, will go from 20MP to 12MP. But that 8MP telephoto lens should remain intact for both. Additionally, other specifications should be shared.

Huawei’s Mate 20 series should have a Kirin 980 chip, 6GB of memory, 128GB of storage, a 4000mAh battery, and Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI. The specifications are, without question, going to land this pairing in the high-end segment.

On October 16, Huawei will make the Mate 20 series official. The Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro should go on sale sometime this fall in select markets.
