Huawei shouldn’t be too thrilled about this leak. The Mate 20 Pro, which will be announced in a few weeks, made an appearance online in several photos that expose its color palette.
While the leak gives away all details surrounding the shades for this flagship, it also tells us exactly what the Mate 20 Pro will look like. So far, we’ve been limited to text-based information and mockups. Somehow Huawei made it this long without press renders slipping out into the open.
As for these photos, we’re able to see the Mate 20 Pro in several styles. Huawei will offer its top-of-the-line model from the Mate 20 family in black, blue, and a blue/purple gradient. The P20 family arrived earlier this year with the same gradient-based variant and drew widespread acclaim. Now it’ll be brought over to the Mate series.
Here’s are some standout features to gaze at, courtesy of WinFuture:
Both models will have notches, but the Mate 20 Pro’s has been stretched to the sides. That’s because it’ll store the cameras and sensors necessary for facial recognition. If you get the Mate 20, it’ll be a waterdrop-shaped notch that’s used for the front-facing camera alone. So choose wisely even though a lot is shared between this duo.
The Mate 20 Pro, like its sibling, has a triple-camera setup on the back. But the top-of-the-line model should have better lenses. It’s expected that the triple-camera setup includes a 40MP primary lens, a 20MP monochrome lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens.
WinFuture suggests it’ll also feature enhanced optical zoom. The report mentions a green variant as well, but a photo has not been obtained. Additionally, the Mate 20 Pro should sport a Kirin 980 chip, 6GB of memory, 128GB of storage, a 4000mAh battery, and Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI.
Together, the Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro will go official in mid-October. We’ll be there on October 16 with live coverage on the fresh hardware.
