HTC’s next mobile device will launch next week.
On Twitter, the Taiwanese company confirmed it’ll be unveiling something new later this month. The announcement will take place on Thursday, August 30. While the details in its teaser don’t go any further, we already have an idea of what could arrive. HTC might make the U12 Life official sooner than expected in an effort to raise its bottom line.
The U12 Life, which should include mid-range specifications, has appeared in a few leaks lately.
As for its specifications, the U12 Life won’t blow anyone away but have enough to be worth looking at in the budget-friendly segment. The phone will reportedly ship with a 6-inch Full HD+ (2160×1080) display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636, 4GB of memory, 64GB of storage, a dual-camera setup, and a 3600mAh battery.
However, the software might not be what you’re hoping for. The U12 Life, according to LlabTooFeR, will run Android Oreo rather than Android Pie. HTC could leave the manufacturing to an outside company, too. Amid tough times, HTC is trying to cut costs everywhere.
We’ll be covering HTC’s announcement, whether it’s for the U12 Life or something we’re still unaware of.
