HTC announced its new One X+ this morning, a much-improved version of the original One X. One of its best features is that it comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and HTC's new Sense 4+ user interface installed right out of the box. But don't think you need to ditch your One X and buy its successor to get your hands on the latest software.

HTC has promised that its Jelly Bean update — along with Sense 4+ — will be coming to its One X and One S smartphones this month.

As is always the case with Android upgrades, those of you with an unlocked, unbranded handset will receive the software almost as soon as HTC releases it. However, those of you with a locked, carrier-branded device — such as those on AT&T or T-Mobile in the United States — will have to wait a little while longer while the update is tested by carriers.

In addition to the speed improvements and features Jelly Bean brings, the upgrade will deliver all the new Sense 4+ features that were introduced alongside the One X+ this morning. Those include new imaging and movie hubs, improvements to the camera app, and more.
