If new iPads aren’t your thing, then you’ll be pleased to know there is some other news floating around this morning. And it’s good news if you’re an Android user living in the U.K. On April 5, the HTC One X will arrive in Britain, and it’ll be available to purchase on O2.

The company confirmed in a message posted to Twitter that although it is yet to make a decision on tariffs for the quad-core handset, it will be receiving the device from early April. In reply to one customer, it wrote:

“Hi Nicole, we’re not due to get the HTC until 5th April so no decision on tariffs yet…keep an eye here:

Now, it’s unclear whether the handset will actually go on sale on April 5, or whether that’s just the date O2 receives its first delivery. Many reports are assuming, however, that it’s the latter.

The HTC One X was on show at Mobile World Congress back in February, and it’s certainly worth getting all excited about. In addition to its 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, the device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 4.0, sports a 4.7-inch 720p display, and offers an 8-megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p video.

The device looks set to become one of the most popular Android handsets of 2012, but will it get your vote? Will you be heading to an O2 shop on April 5?
