Bad news for Verizon customers that were holding out hope for the HTC One to eventually pop-up on their carrier, it looks as though it just isn’t going to happen.

Despite rumors that the HTC One would show up on Verizon by the end of the year, a lone Tweet from the manufacturer over the weekend seems to have killed that dream. In reply to an inquiry from a customer, the Taiwanese manufacturer said:

@cizzlen The HTC One will not be available on the Verizon network, but have you seen the awesome #DroidDNA?

It is interesting to note, however, that while the tweet went out on Sat. March 16, as of our checks this morning, the message does not appear in HTC’s timeline. We did find the original tweet from @cizzlen, and checking that conversation thread also doesn’t show HTC’s reply, so it definitely appears to have been deleted. Does this mean that an HTC employee was a bit to quick on the draw? Possibly, but as of right now there is a record of an official HTC source stating that the One will not appear on Verizon.

Perhaps the deletion is cause for hope, but right now our money is on the idea that you will have to look at carriers other than Verizon to pick up the HTC One in the U.S.
