It's finally October, meaning the release of Windows Phone 8 (and Windows 8!) is near. And to gear up for launch day, companies such as Nokia, HTC and Samsung will be ramping up marketing initiatives to raise awareness for upcoming Windows Phone 8 devices. In the case above, HTC produced a short but sweet video aimed at showing off its Windows Phone 8X, a handset we can't wait to spend more time with.

The video doesn't reveal anything we haven't seen, but is more of a platform to whet the appetite of prospective buyers. The 8X design features prominently, as does Windows Phone's iconic colorful Metro UI. Additionally, the video demonstrates situations where one might take and share pictures, Skype and get valuable info from Windows Phone's live tiles. It's simple, but hits all the right notes without inundating viewers with boring information.
