HTC's mid-range Incredible S has reportedly begun receiving its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update today, right in line with the Taiwanese company's own "July" timeframe. It is expected that the unlocked GSM variant will be first in line.

As expected for this kind of update, the rollout will be staggered depending on regions and carriers, and so those locked to a certain provider are likely to be waiting longer than those with SIM-free handsets. Furthermore, the 250MB downloading will be coming over-the-air, so you won't need to connect your Incredible S to your PC to update it.

In addition to Android Ice Cream Sandwich and the user interface tweaks that brings, this update includes HTC Sense 3.6.

As is always the case with Android updates, you should receive an alert as soon as yours is available. You can also check manually by hitting the Software Update button in your Settings app.
