HTC announced on Thursday that its entry-level Desire 530 smartphone, first unveiled during Mobile World Congress in February, will finally launch in the U.S. later this month. The phone's stand-out feature is its "splash design," which looks like paint splatter on the back of the polycarbonate shell. Each phone has a unique pattern.

The Desire 530 offers a Snapdragon 210 processor, a 5-inch display, an 8-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with Auto Selfie and Voice Selfie modes. It also features "BoomSound profiles," which allows you to boost "volume and bass without distorting sound." It's a phone that might be most attractive to teens looking for a new Android smartphone on a budget, given its flare and entry-level price.

And speaking of price, it'll launch for $179 unlocked in sprinkle white later this month. It will also be sold by Verizon and T-Mobile, though we don't yet have details on carrier pricing.
