HTC Sensation XL Beats

After purchasing 50.1% of Beats Electronics for $309 million back in August 2011, HTC immediately started integrating Beats audio technology into its high-end mobile devices — and including a pair of Beats earphones in every box. However, when it sold back half its stake less then 12 months later, HTC's relationship with Beats became a big talking point.

Back in July, the Taiwanese smartphone maker said the decision allowed Beats "more flexibility for global expansion while maintaining HTC's major stake and exclusivity in mobile." But analysts were concerned. Morgan Stanley said it found the announcement "puzzling," and that the separation of the two companies "implies there was not much synergy" between them.

Of course, this led to speculation that Beats audio technology would eventually be pulled from HTC's devices. But according to the latter, it's going nowhere.

In a statement to Android Central, HTC said:

"HTC remains strongly committed to Beats Audio and including their innovation in our devices. Any rumor of HTC no longer integrating Beats Audio into our devices is categorically false."

That's great news for HTC fans who've now become accustomed to seeing Beats audio integrated into their devices — not to mention the free pair of earphones.
