HTC allegedly stopped development on several new smartphone models that it was originally planning to launch next year, according to a new report on Wednesday. The smartphone maker still hopes that its shipments increase by 10 to 15 percent,

said, but that’s lower than the 20 to 30 percent growth the firm was planning on during the first quarter of next year.

It’s unclear which models HTC has suspended, although we already know that it will not move forward on the development of its 5-inch Windows Phone 8 phablet, due to the screen resolution limitations of Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform. It’s possible that HTC will continue to instead focus on Android handsets over Windows Phone powered devices, since they seem to have a more popular following, although that’s our own speculation.
