While we wait for the official HP event to start a short time from now, it appears that the HP Web Store got a little trigger happy by announcing the three new products we will see today. Officially they are named the HP Veer, Pre3 and the tablet will be the TouchPad.  PreCentral grabbed a screenshot of the site, but it now appears to have changed.

The only surprise in all of this is the name “Veer”, as this is the first we’ve heard of it.  Keeping the Pre name is no big surprise as it’s already an established name and we knew about TouchPad when HP filed for the trademark.  It had been codenamed “Topaz” in the first images that were leaked of it, but for sure it is now the TouchPad.

It has also been confirmed that the TouchPad will weigh 1.5 lbs and be 13mm thick.  If those numbers sound familiar, it’s because they’re the exact same weight and dimensions as the iPad.

The Veer is reportedly being referred to as a “teen phone” and will only be available on GSM networks, which could mean AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States.  The Pre3 sounds like an update to the line, but no word on what exactly that might entail.
