English Premier League soccer may well be the highest level of professional competition in the sport, and it draws in fans across the U.K. and around the world. In the U.S., fans who want to cheer on their favorite football club don't need cable to see the biggest matches. Here is how to watch English Premier League soccer if you've cut the cord.

The 2019-20 season of the English Premier League kicks off on Aug. 9 when Liverpool plays Norwich City. From August to May, 20 of the best football clubs will play 380 matches. The final 10 games will all take place on Sunday, May 17, 2020, and fans can hope the drama of the final day will match the chase of last season.

English Premier League (EPL) had a legendarily tight finish last season, as the 2018-19 champions Manchester City bested Liverpool by only 2 points. Man City achieved one of the great seasons in the history of English football, scoring a domestic treble by winning the Premier League title, the FA Cup and the Carabao EFL Cup, along with the FA Community Shield. Liverpool may have been the runner-up, but they had only one league loss the entire Premier League season, and won their sixth UEFA Champions League title.

The English Premier League welcomes three new teams — as Aston Villa, Norwich City and Sheffield United have been promoted up from the EFL Championship league to this highest level of competition. They will take the spots from Cardiff City, Fulham and Huddersfield Town, who finished in the bottom three spots last season in the Premier League, and have been relegated down one league level.

How to stream English Premier League

English Premier League broadcasts in the U.S. exclusively on NBC Universal networks. Matches will be covered live on five networks; NBC, NBCSN, CNBC, Telemundo and Universo. While they won't cover every game played, these networks will have wide coverage, with over 40 games in just the first two months of play.

Games on Telemundo and Universo will be broadcast in Spanish, providing access to some of the sport's most passionate fans. Those games are also primarily simulcast on the other channels in English, so you can choose between the broadcasts.

The best way to select the perfect live streaming service as a proper EPL fan is finding one with a plan that includes all of these networks, and supports login to the NBC Sports app. Time to take a look at how the options stack up.
