One of the DLC tracks for Mario Kart 8 was Animal Crossing. It’s a ripping race through the fictional town, and it occurs over the four seasons. You know, Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
Well, normally, the seasons are totally random. GameXplain posted a video showing that, in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch, you can actually pick the season played in the course. Here’s the clip in question.
This only works in Versus Mode
If you want to select the season you see in the Animal Crossing track, you’ll need to be playing in Versus Mode. On the selection screen, hold one of the triggers to get the season you want. Here’s the configuration.
- R triggers Winter
- R triggers Summer
- ZL triggers Fall
- L triggers Spring
Get in there, racers!
