Nintendo will shut down the Miiverse social network running on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS this fall. With its death goes a community of artists, goofballs and “Yeahs!”
If you were active on Miiverse and want to keep your post history until the end of time, you can request a download of it. You need to do this before Miiverse shuts down on November 8, 2017.
Head to this page, log in and follow the directions. There’s a big button at the base of the page that reads “Request Post History.” You’ll eventually receive a file download. Here’s what Nintendo offers about what’s required to view it.
- A PC is needed to download or view your post history. A smart device cannot be used.
- Your downloadable post history will be contained in a Zip file. You will need to open the file on a PC to view the content.
Miiverse was a pretty neat idea. It’s a shame to see it go.
