The lastest version of watchOS is here. With watchOS 5 (and its subsequent updates), Apple introduced a myriad of new feature like Walkie Takie mode and ECG that enhanced the overall experience making the wearable much more useful. Now that the watchOS 6 beta is out too, you have the ability to test out the next-gen software for the Apple Watch.

How to install watchOS 6 beta certificate

You'll need a developer account to download the watchOS beta certificate. If you don't have it (it costs $99 per year), you'll need to wait for Apple to release the public beta later this summer.

  1. Log into on the iPhone paired with your Apple Watch.
  2. Go to the watchOS 6 download page.
  3. Tap on Download watchOS 6 beta Configuration Profile.
  4. Tap on Apple Watch from the Choose a Device popup.
  5. Tap on Install to begin.
  6. Enter your Passcode.
  7. Tap on Install to confirm.
  8. Tap on Restart to reboot your Apple Watch.

How to download and install watchOS 5.2.1

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi and launch the Watch app.
  2. Make sure your Apple Watch is charged to at least 50% and connect it to the magnetic charger.
  3. Tap on the My Watch tab.
  4. Tap on General.
  5. Tap on Software Update.
  6. Tap on Download and Install.

  7. Enter your iPhone Passcode when prompted.
  8. Tap on Agree to the Terms and Conditions.

  9. Tap Proceed on your Apple Watch to start download.
  10. Enter your Passcode.
  11. Let the download begin.
  • The Apple Watch will reboot to apply the update after the download is completed. Once the display turns back on, you're set.

Your Apple Watch will now be running the latest version of watchOS.
