Yesterday afternoon, the official Hotline Miami Twitter account posted a phone number and an extension. That’s it. They provided no explanation, they didn’t respond to any questions and they certainly don’t seem like they’re going to do either of those things anytime soon.

The number, the extension and the message waiting for people who call it, though? Interesting. It might even reveal the game’s release date. Here’s the tweet.

That 786 area code, of course, is for Miami, Florida. I called the number, and I made sure to record the response. Sorry for the quality, but here’s the message waiting for those who dial the number.

For those without audio, the message says “We are 50 Blessings. Together we march –M-m-m-m-m-m-m-march– into the future. You have reached the wrong number.”

50 Blessings is the name of the group behind all the phone calls and messages in the original Hotline Miami.

The current thinking about the tweet, the number and the message are that they all add up to reveal a March 10th release date. That’s March because of the word “march” in the clip and 10th because of the extention in the tweet. I tried dialing 10 before, during and after the message over three calls, but nothing happens.

What do you think? No matter what, it’s pretty creepy. We’ll have more on Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number as it comes. The game is currently bound for the PC, PlayStation 4 and PS Vita platforms.
