Against all odds, Hitman managed to make episodic gaming work in 2016, releasing one well-received episode after another into fan hands, following up the pack-in missions with time-sensitive Elusive Target missions and more. Now the entire first season has been collected into one box set, and it's out on shelves.

In addition to the collected episodes, the set includes the official soundtrack, a making-of documentary, some downloadable content and bonus missions, and a Steelbook case that I imagine Agent 47 would use as a weapon if he could.

And then there's this wacky trailer

It would be easy to just throw together some action footage on a sizzle reel and dump some intense music over it. Trailers like those are a dime-a-dozen. It takes heart and inspiration to put together something like this As Seen on TV-style trailer showing off everything that comes with the collected game.

Here we're introduced to shopping channel hawkers Jackie and Allen who, in just a few minutes, we get to know in more detail than we could've imagined. Alan has trouble with alliteration, and Jackie is currently single thanks to a supposed mishap with a woodchipper. Also, they have some serious chemistry.

Hitman has a penchant for including bizarre characters as targets, and I'd love to see these two appear in a one-off mission down the line.

Hitman: The Complete First Season is available now on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
