SWERY White Owls

Months after retiring from Access Games, game designer Hidetaka "SWERY" Suehiro is once again back to making video games. The creator of cult hits like Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die has formed a new studio called White Owls.

SWERY, hopefully expecting international success, posted an open letter on the studio's website re-introducing himself to the public in English.

About White Owls Inc.

Do you need more weird content?

White Owls is prepared to give you the unique content that you're looking for, which you won't be able to find anywhere else.

Greetings from the CEO

Hello, and nice to meet you. I'm the president and CEO of White Owls, SWERY.
White Owls is a small development company that was born in Osaka on November 1, 2016. Our slogan is "From Osaka to all of YOU around the World," and we're working day and night to create completely unique things that no one's ever seen before.

Deep meaning exists in the name 'White Owls.'
In Ancient Greece, owls were called sages of the forest, and thought to be servants of Athena (Minerva), the goddess of wisdom.

Their eyes can pierce the darkness, and their ears can hear sound in 3D. Their wings allow them to silently catch their prey, and their powerful claws can effortlessly tear through even the toughest of bodies. There is also an Albino species of owl clad in sheer white fur which possesses an especially mystical quality.

We at White Owls hope to keep growing until we can someday evolve into a similar type of mystical entity.

We've only barely taken our first breath, but we hope you'll keep an eye on us as we embark along our journey.

SUDA 51, SWERY, Yoko Taroi… what would the gaming world be like without them?

Thank goodness he's back, too. The gaming world needs fun personalities like SWERY and his goofy Japanese game developing brethren. Without these people, who have personalities more established than the characters they create, we've become nothing more than an industry of corporate fuddy-duddies.

These guys remind us how to have fun in the face of such professionalism. Here's to hoping SWERY will be able to follow up with a game that lives up to his wacky reputation.
