Platinum Games co-founder and Scalebound director Hideki Kamiya had quite a lot to say at this year’s E3. Speaking with Game Central, the popular game director opened up on potential projects he wants to work on once Scalebound finally launches in 2017.

When discussing Bayonetta‘s hairstyle, the director slipped up in his comment, leading to a discussion on the potential for Bayonetta 3.

Then we will take that into account when we design her haircut when we start doing 3, if we ever make 3.

Noticing the gasp that his comment and shift of words made, he jumped in to throw out a quick “Of course we want to make 3. Why should it end at 2?”

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking in my head what that game would be. I’ve got ideas in my head for Okami 2 as well…We’ve got other Scalebounds in our heads too.

And speaking of Okami 2, reports of Capcom and Platinum Games collaborating on future projects seem to have been overstated. Kamiya opened up on his conversations with Capcom’s Jun Takeuchi, saying:

That conversation happened. I go drinking with Takeuchi quite a bit. And every time we go drink he’s like, ‘Let’s do something, man! Let’s do something, man!’ And I continue to say, ‘Let’s do something, man! Let’s do something!

If you’ve ever been in a Japanese “izakaya,” a drinking restaurant, and have heard the neighboring business men ramble through their beers, you’ll understand exactly how this conversation went down. Lots of talking and lots of forgetting the following morning. However, Kamiya didn’t leave his fans empty handed, revealing his shirt with a wolf on it.

This is of course in reference to Microsoft’s Phil Spencer’s tendency to tease video games through t-shirts during press conferences.

So many teases and mixed messages from Kamiya! The guy has a reputation for rolling off the cuff, and I just can’t handle them all! I really want to see what he does next, especially after Scalebound turned out a mixed reception at E3 2016. It looks decent, but not really up to the fast-paced, hardcore standards his action games are known for.
