In this weekly column, we'll be selecting inexpensive, discarded titles from still playable consoles for your perusal. They may be games you've heard of and remember playing, or they may be games that have flown completely off of your radar. Just know that we love them and they're available on the cheap. That's a bonafide win/win situation.

If you have any favorite titles that you consider hidden gems, let us know in the comments below and we might feature your pick in the weekly column.

Platform: Nintendo 3DS
Original Release: December, 2011

Every once in a while with these Hidden Gem featurettes, we do a game that may or may not meet the requirements listed above. This time around, the game I'm going with is not old. It's basically brand new, and that's a violation.

But I'm still pointing it out.

Pushmo is probably the best new game being sold on the Nintendo 3DS' eShop marketplace. It's selling for $6.99 and it released in early December of last year. It's a puzzle game that has players push and pull blocks on a 3D plane in order to reach a goal. It's simple in concept, but it gets incredibly challenging as the 250 puzzles that launched with the game roll on.

Here's a trailer:

After you've completed the puzzles offered, you can hit the studio you unlock early in the game to create and share your own puzzles. It's a little tough to make head-scratchers at first, but you'll get into it as time goes by.

If you own a Nintendo 3DS and have $7 to spare, Pushmo is a great place to do it. It's a unique puzzle game that's been brilliantly planned and designed. It's addictive, quick to pick up and a lot of fun. Plus, no one's talking about it.
