People smoke cigarettes, but they chomp cigars. Spider-Man's J. Jonah Jameson, Aliens' Sgt. Apone, Duke Nukem – all cigar chompers. Among the famous chompers in video games is StarCraft's Tychus. Fans of the long running real-time strategy series were, as you might guess, a bit unhappy when they found Tychus' cigar missing in the open beta for Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard's new MOBA game.

There's a reason for this, though. Like League of Legends and Dota 2, Blizzard's MOBA is going to be big. Since it's Blizzard, it's going to be huge, and the company wants to maximize that audience by getting the game a teen-level rating. To do that, according to Blizzard artist Phill Gonzalez, the cigar had to go. Some regions simply don't allow smoking to go with a teen game classification. If you want to play as Tychus in Heroes of the Storm, it looks like you'll have to do so sans cigar.

Due to some regions' guidelines about depictions of the dead, the character Skelethur doesn't even show up in some regions. Anything involving skulls and blood – you know, core elements of the Diablo series – requires alternate versions as well.
