Before a trailer drops next week, Entertainment Weekly has the first set photos from Glass, the final movie in a trilogy that also includes Unbreakable and Split. Nobody saw this coming, but M. Night Shyamalan is well known for major plot twists.
Like the teaser poster, the stills show Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), Kevin Wendell Crumb (James McAvoy), and David Dunn (Bruce Willis) institutionalized—and they’re all being treated together. The only one who is chained up is Dunn, which seems like a bad idea.
And, in case you’re wondering who’s treating the trio, it’s Sara Paulson. It’s unclear how the three got together in the institution, or why the place is so pink. Maybe it’s supposed to be calming? Either way, it’s exciting to see these three characters converging like this.
Here’s the official premise for Glass:
Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds David Dunn pursuing Kevin Wendell Crumb’s superhuman persona of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters while the shadowy presence of Elijah Price, going by “Mr. Glass,” emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
Universal Pictures is holding a presentation at San Diego Comic-Con next week, where we’re expecting Glass’s first trailer. The movie hits theaters on January 18, 2019.
