She’s back.
That would be Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, the kick ass heroine from the first two Terminator movies. After passing on the past three films in the franchise, Hamilton is returning to reprise her iconic role alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800. Not much is known about how her character will be re-incorporated into the franchise, though we now have our first taste of how she will look.
The Terminator Fans posted the first images of Linda Hamilton on the set of Terminator 6, revealing a very blonde Sarah Connor. Beyond the color of her hair, the other most notable detail of her outfit is the bullet proof vest she is wearing with two grenades strapped on to the side. Unlike the Sarah Connor we last saw on the big screen, who was played by Emilia Clarke, Hamilton’s version is much more weathered and hardened, which can be seen from the image the shows an authoritative warrior ready to kick some ass.
The newest Terminator movie has entered production and is set to arrive in theaters on July 26, 2019. It will be directed by Deadpool’s Tim Miller and see the return of James Cameron, the writer and director of the original two movies, as a creative executive.
Not much is known about the storyline Terminator 6 will explore other than it will take place right after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and may explore the history of the T-800. This means it will completely ignore the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation and Terminator Genisys.
That’s probably for the best. Each was entertaining in its own right but had its faults in advancing the original storyline of the T-800. With Cameron, Schwarzenegger and Hamilton back, hopefully we get a movie that gets close to replicating the formula that made Judgement Day such a groundbreaking movie.
