In its mission to become the go-to streaming service, Netflix invested a lot in original content. That goal bears its rich fruits in August with the sheer number of original content coming to the service.

Leading off the pack is two highly anticipated series: Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later and Marvel’s The Defenders. Netflix produced a prequel to the 2001 cult hit Wet Hot American Summer two years ago and now it is back with a sequel set ten years later. The new series takes place in 1991 and catches up with most of your favorite characters from the original.

The Defenders is the long-awaited mash up of Marvel superheroes with their own Netflix series. Daredevil began the journey back in 2015, and in the subsequent years, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist got their own series. Now all of their stories are coming together as they team up to take down The Hand.

For original movies, Netflix has three major debuts in August: Naked, What Happened to Monday and Death Note.

In case none of those capture your attention, Netflix is also adding its usual slate of additions from other major studios. The big-name titles include Sing, Cloud Atlas, Holes, The Founder, The Addams Family, Gold and the NBC series The Good Place.
