As promised, here's the first trailer for the Hellboy reboot, starring David Harbour, Ian McShane, and Sasha Lane.

Directed by Neil Marshall, the film appears to be taking a more humorous approach to the iconic demon, with a lot quips in the first trailer. We get plenty of great looks at Hellboy (David Harbour), who is working alongside his dad, Travor Bruttenholm (Ian McShane), at the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Development.

According to the movie's official synopsis, Hellboy will attempt to stop an ancient medieval sorceress, who is being played by Milla Jovovich.

It's always tricky to judge a movie based on a trailer. On the one hand, Hellboy looks like a fun take on the popular character, and Harbour looks perfect in the titular role. The tone also seems to be right. But I'm not sure if the jokes are landing as intended.

Hellboy hits theaters on April 12, 2019.
