Hope everyone in Buffalo-land has a happy, healthy Fourth of July holiday! While I won’t get to enjoy the pyrotechnics tonight, at least I did get to indulge some other tech-tastic benefits this weekend.

Check it out: I went away to what some may call a charmingly rustic, and decidedly un-connected, Maine cabin set in a wooded area by the water. But thanks to a portable hotspot, I’ve been calling this my personal office space since Friday.

Here’s the view from my front porch:

Friends, this right here is the power of technology. It sure beats the pants off of sitting in my dull, white-walled home office. My only regret right now is that I didn’t have the foresight to snag a test sample of a Hatsuden-Nabe (pictured). This would’ve been a prime opportunity to test this intriguing $278 cook pot with USB, which converts heat into power for charging electronics.

Orrrr… maybe I’ll just wrap things up, power down and enjoy the scenery for a change.

How are you spending July 4th? Are you staying logged in or enjoying some offline time today? Either way, have a fabulous holiday — no matter where you are!
