Halo - Spartan Strike

Halo: Spartan Strike, the new entry in what's now becoming a series of top-down twin stick shooters built within Halo lore, has been delayed. The delay comes because of the problems still plaguing Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Originally slated for Dec. 12, Spartan Strike's delay was discussed briefly in a recent entry on the Halo Waypoint blog. Here's the rub, verbatim.

While we're excited about this all-new Halo experience, our commitment to resolving the current matchmaking issues in Halo: The Master Chief Collection remains the top priority.

As a result, we have decided to move the release of Halo: Spartan Strike to early 2015.

As annoying as this delay might be, and as bad as The Master Chief Collection's matchmaking plight has been, it's good to see that 343 Industries is putting smaller projects on hold in order to fix their blunder.

Halo: Spartan Strike's potential minor success certainly won't outshine the gloom of The Master Chief Collection's multiplayer, so let's see them fix the latter before it launches the former.
