This is part of our revamped Guess the Phone series, where we take a look back at phones from yesteryear. For more, you can view all of them here.
I think what I liked most about this smartphone was how simple it was. It featured a solid, futuristic design (thanks to a fun pixelated pattern on the back) and excellent software (at the time).
Truth be told, I would gladly use this phone today, but unfortunately the model we own no longer works. Which is probably for the best, because its software is severely outdated and it doesn't even support LTE.
The device was expected to get a grand unveiling in New York were it not for inclement weather. An announcement eventually came in the form of a press release, alongside two other devices.
Surprisingly, this phone sold pretty well considering it was a relatively niche product compared to what was available at the time. It survived for nearly 12 months before being discontinued.
You know, given the sort of designs we see today, it would be cool to see what a 2018 (or 2019) version of this phone would look like. Maybe in an alternate universe.
