Grand Theft Auto V was delayed out of May of this year and into September. That news broke more than a week ago. When it happened, rumors started circling the announcement.

One of the big rumors that seemed to pick up momentum, despite Rockstar's initial refusal of it, was that Take-Two and Rockstar elected to delay Grand Theft Auto V in order to put it out on the next Sony and Microsoft systems in addition to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

We can officially rule that one out, hopefully for good. While speaking with investors and reporters during their recent financial earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick explained that Grand Theft Auto V is a game being made for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 specifically.

"There is not one gamer who is going to sit out of GTA V hoping that something that is going to come along down the road that's better. It's going to blow everyone away, and it's going to be in the market in September…"

Making a next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V currently isn't in the cards for either Rockstar or Take-Two. Rumor squashed.
