Google may not have submitted a new iOS Maps app just yet, but it’s still taking care of millions of Gmail users that prefer Apple’s iPhone. The company released an updated version of Gmail on Friday that’s optimized for iOS 6 and the iPhone 5’s larger 4-inch display. There aren’t many optimizations beyond the new support, but it does include new message notifications, threaded conversations, address book autocomplete, attachment support and much more and, in general, is a pretty solid app. The update is also available for the iPod touch and iPad. Now let’s hope Google has its focus on Maps, too.
