Google has announced that it will launch Home, its first voice-activated smart speaker, in France on August 3. The device will be available to purchase from its website and from a handful of independent retailers for €149 ($170).

Obviously, Google Assistant can now speak French, but it's not only folks in France that'll benefit from the newly-implemented language. As noted by Android Police, Home recently launched in Canada, and there are plenty of French-speaking Canadians.

Forget about the Amazon Echo

I've said this a number of times in the past and I'm going to say it again… I'd recommend picking up the Google Home over the Amazon Echo for one reason: Google has remained committed to updating it with useful features, including step-by-step recipe instructions.

It's a shame the same can't be said for Amazon.
