Google is expected to unveil its first Daydream virtual reality headset at an event on October 4, but the company won’t stop there. The search giant is reportedly planning a series of pop-up events in New York where people may be able to experience Daydream in person.

The events will kick off next month and run through December, according to Digital Trends. It’s unclear exactly what devices will be on display, but Daydream headsets and controllers should take center stage. It’s possible that the company’s rumored Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, which presumably support the new VR platform, will be on-hand as well.

Google announced Daydream earlier this year at its I/O developers conference. The new virtual reality platform is a big step up from Google Cardboard but it’s not as powerful as high-end headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. The closest competition is likely Samsung Gear VR, which still relies on a smartphone but offers a more immersive experience than Cardboard.

The pop-ups should provide the public with a chance to try out Daydream in person, though it’s unclear if Google is planning to hold any similar events outside of NYC. We should get the full story next week at the company’s big event on Oct. 4.
