Yesterday came and went without nary a mention of the Nexus 5 or the launch of Android 4.4 KitKat, despite rumors suggesting that it would launch on the 15th. Now, Best Buy is apparently starting to outfit its stores with Google kiosks. We very much believe these will be used to sell Google and Android products, such as Chromebooks and the Nexus 7, though there's speculation it could mean the Nexus 5 is coming soon.

The problem with that theory, of course, is that the Nexus devices are usually targeted at and sold to developers, not your everyday consumer who walks into Best Buy. We don't think that's going to change with the Nexus 5 launch, so it's likely just a coincidence that these kiosks are landing at the same time we're expecting a new Nexus phone.

Also, you'll note nothing about the kiosk in the picture above points to KitKat or any sort of Nexus devices. Still, Best Buy does sell Google's Nexus products, so it's possible that we'll see KitKat highlighted on these desks in the very near future. As for the Nexus 5 launch, we're still hoping for some news by the end of this month.
