Earlier this week, Google announced that Google Assistant – until now only available on Pixel and Google Home – to Android Nougat and Android Marshmallow devices. Check your phones, because it’s starting to hit today.

You won’t need to dig into the Google Play Store or anything to get Google Assistant. Instead, Google can update your phone using Google Play Services, which means Google Assistant should just arrive over-the-air. Google confirmed the rollout with a video on YouTube titled “It’s here,” that highlights some of the Google Assistant features.

Better than Google Now

Unlike Google Now, Google Assistant allows you to dig deeper into conversations with Google’s artificial intelligence. Use it to check the weather, sports scores, set reminders, book restaurant reservations and more. Check your phone to see if it’s available now.
