Humanity is caught in the middle of a deadly battle between the titans in the latest Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer. It looks like we're about to get a lot more fighting between these legendary monsters, with Godzilla and King Ghidorah acting as the main event.

Much of the trailer shows the world in a state of utter destruction, seemingly on the verge of apocalypse. The only hope is for Godzilla to come to our rescue. As the trailer shows, he'll be up against some tough competition, with Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah all vying for dominance.

Here's the trailer's official synopsis:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all view for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

If there was one thing lacking in the first Godzilla, it was the infrequency of monster fights. It looks like there will be no shortage of that when Godzilla: King of the Monsters hits theaters on May 31, 2019.
