The King of Monsters will be returning to the United States far sooner than you might think. However, his latest incarnation will be in the form of a video game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, not the film sequel. Bandai Namco’s simply titled Godzilla will be released on July 14 in North America and July 17 in Europe.
Those who pre-order will have free access to the “Hollywood Godzilla” as a playable character, hinting that this is a product to tie into the Japanese franchise, not the recent blockbuster hit from Legendary Pictures.
I haven’t heard anything about the Roland Emmerich “Zilla.”
I was a bit let down on the graphics and camera angles from this game at first, but I think the latest trailer and screenshots have given me a change of heart. This game looks like a good time, and hands-on previews paint it as the game that Godzilla fans have been looking for.
Is Godzilla hero or anti-hero? Roar as the Classic Godzilla or 2014 Hollywood Godzilla! Lay waste to cities with brute force and atomic breath! Battle against a cast of monstrous legendary rivals!
Again, Godzilla will be released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on July 14.
