The upcoming Ghost in the Shell film adaptation starring Scarlett Johansson has secured a Super Bowl ad spot for the big game this weekend.
Like almost all Super Bowl ads over the last couple years, this one arrived early. Take a peep, it’s good.
This adaption is looking faithful
Rightfully so, fans have been concerned about Ghost in the Shell. It’s a classic anime that deserves incredible execution for its Hollywood debut. I totally get that.
So far, and this is only based on early imagery and trailers, Ghost in the Shell looks like it’s set to take the silver screen with genuine legitimacy in mind. The source material was good enough that it should be embraced, and it looks like they’re doing it.
Johansson also seems like she’s really stepped into the character, which is fantastic as well.
Ghost in the Shell hits theaters on March 31, 2017.
