Garmin on Tuesday introduced the Garmin Vivosmart HR, the company's latest fitness tracker. The Vivosmart HR packs a a 24/7 heart rate monitor and an always-on display that's easy to read in direct sunlight, but it also offers some smartwatch functionality.

Users, for example, will be able to receive and view text messages, emails, and incoming calls. They'll also have the ability to control music. Paired with the Garmin Connect Mobile app, which is available for Android and iOS devices, users can keep track of their constant heart rate, check in on sleep hours and view activity progress, like stairs climbed or steps walked during a single day.

The Garmin Vivosmart HR will be available in Best Buy beginning on Nov. 1 in black, purple and blue. Pre-orders are open today.
