Stand aside, chumps! Final Fantasy is back and ready to show you how to draw in a crowd. Positive critical reception and excellent marketing for Final Fantasy XV have thrust the iconic series back into the limelight of the gaming world, and now everyone wants to play along. Both returnees and newcomers alike want to play Final Fantasy XV to the point where GameStop says it is the most anticipated game of the holiday season.
A survey conducted by the video game retailer puts Final Fantasy XV in the number 1 spot of a very high profile list. Square Enix’s latest beats out the likes of Pokémon Sun and Moon, Battlefield 1, and even, wait for it, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

5 million copies on launch day is a very good start
Of course, this only reflects the opinions of gamers who take the time to shop and fill out surveys at GameStop, but you get the idea. Final Fantasy XV could very well become the biggest game in the series’ history at this pace. On the first day alone, it shipped 5 million copies worldwide, and it more than likely has already covered half of the series’ best seller, Final Fantasy VII, with a record of 11.5 million copies.
Final Fantasy XV is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
