Microsoft has announced the line-up of Xbox’s Games with Gold selection for the month of October, and I don’t have too much to complain about. Each of them is a solid title worth your time… if you haven’t already played it before.

For the Xbox One, players will be able to snag up Ubisoft’s “not-indie” hit Valiant Hearts: The Great War. This was the second game released under a new initiative by Ubisoft to help shake up creativity and reward its best performing studios with personal projects. Along with Child of Light, it scored a lot of praise for being the anti-AAA game, and it turned out to be pretty solid in its own right.

Joining in on Oct. 16 until Nov. 15 is The Walking Dead Season 1 because who doesn’t own this title in some way, shape, form, or fashion yet? This is a wonderful game that helped put Telltale on the map, and it is far more thought provoking and emotionally draining than the average zombie game.

As for the Xbox 360, owners will also have access to The Walking Dead during the second half of the month from Oct. 16 to 31. Joining it for the first half from Oct. 1 to 15 will be Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, just in case you need that extra chapter of prologue for The Phantom Pain.

The older selection will soon rotate out, so be sure to download them before Oct. 1.
