Verizon on Thursday began selling the Galaxy Tab E, a 9.6-inch tablet that sports mid-range specs and a relatively low monthly cost. It also supports Verizon's faster XLTE wireless network.

The Galaxy Tab E offers a 1280 x 800-pixel screen, a 5-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and 16GB of storage, though you'll find a bit less considering Android 5.1.1 and TouchWiz are also installed. Thankfully there's a microSD card slot for adding up to an additional 128GB of storage. The Galaxy Tab E is also equipped with a large 7,300mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving mode. Verizon highlighted a "Kids Mode" that's available through Galaxy Essentials and allows you to determine how much time your kids are using the slate.

The Galaxy Tab E is available in stores and online for $329.99 or for $13.74 a month for 24 months,.
