While the original Samsung Galaxy Tab didn't exactly light the tablet world on fire, the company is giving the form factor another go, and this time it looks like they may be getting a whole lot more right.  With the introduction yesterday of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung is definitely going in a new direction with the product line, and putting Apple's iPad 2 squarely in its sights.

The proof, as people say, is in the pudding, so lets take a look at the specs of both of these new tablets from the Korean electronics company.

Overall, these both look to be very solid offerings.  Considering there is only a a tiny price difference between the 16GB 8.9 and 10.1, I'm not quite sure why anyone would go for the smaller version.  You get more screen and a better camera, and the size difference isn't going to make that large of a difference in your shoulder bag or backpack.  The 10.1 definitely looks to be the winner of the pair clocking in at a $488.

What do you think?  Do either of these new tablets hold any interest for you?
