With the Galaxy S9 set to be released in around two weeks, Samsung is already rolling out its advertising campaign for the phone.
The main focus for Samsung is on the camera. Both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have 12MP lenses with variable aperture. Then the larger model takes things further by adding a second lens of the same quality. Samsung also added special capabilities for different lighting, slow-motion, and 4K.
Samsung posted its first TV ad for the Galaxy S9, and it does highlight the camera more than anything else. After all, the slogan is “The Camera. Reimagined.” But the company also mentions things like the Infinity Display, AR Emoji, water resistance, and surround sound.
If you’re wondering, the song playing behind the ad is Aston Merrygold’s “Get Stupid.”
It doesn’t seem the ad has started airing yet, and that’ll likely change this weekend when the 90th Annual Academy Awards take place. ABC’s broadcast of the Oscars generally draws a massive audience and in recent years Samsung’s paid for several spots to promote its products.
