Hey neat, the Galaxy S7 has a built-in Captain Obvious feature. I kid, this is actually probably going to save a lot of smartphones and, possibly, a lot of humans from deadly error. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have built-in warnings to prevent you from charging the phone if it gets wet.

“Moisture detected in charging port,”  the error reads, according to an XDA Developers user who “took an underwater photo” and went to plug the phone in to charge four hours later. The phone must have still been wet because the phone wouldn’t charge and displayed the aforementioned error. Sounds like there are sensors built into the port to prevent the phone from ruining itself, which is actually a pretty cool safeguard that we haven’t heard about before.

Other users suggested that they haven’t seen the alert yet, so it might just be limited to this user. Good to know, though, and something you’ll want to keep an eye out for if you own a new Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge.
