The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were introduced just a few weeks ago during Mobile World Congress, and by good fortune we have both phones in our office now. We wanted to quickly give you an idea of how the two phones differ side-by-side, so we decided to shoot a gallery since, you know, a picture is worth 1,000 words.
You’ll note that the phones look almost identical and that’s because, for the most part, they are. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both sport 5.1-inch Quad HD displays, aluminum frames with Gorilla Glass front and back panels, and the same layout for volume/power buttons on the sides of the device.
Of course, the major difference is the curved display on the Galaxy S6 Edge. The screen bends at the sides just a hair. It’s a really awesome effect, and one that provides some bonus features like a night clock, a news ticker, and quick access to your favorite contacts.
You won’t see this in the images, but the Galaxy S6 Edge also has a battery that’s just a hair larger than the Galaxy S6, coming in at 2,600mAh versus the 2,550mAh battery in the Galaxy S6.
We’ll be bringing you plenty of additional coverage over the coming days and weeks, so consider this just a taste of both devices. Think you’ll go with the unique curved Galaxy S6 Edge, or the more standard Galaxy S6?
