If you own a Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge locked to T-Mobile, you’ll be pleased to hear that the carrier’s resident “gadget guy” Des Smith has announced that the much-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update will start making its way to the handsets later this week.

For those who aren’t aware, Nougat bundles a bevy of new software features, including support for new emoji, additional battery saving features, enhanced notifications, improved app permissions and generally smoother experience.

You’ll receive a notification when the upgrade is available

Obviously, you’ll receive an alert when the upgrade is available, but if you’re feeling impatient and would like to manually check to see if it’s ready, you can do so by opening up Settings, tapping About Device, then pressing Download Updates Manually.
