Samsung Galaxy S4 VS Galaxy S4 Zoom-1

Samsung announced several new tablets during the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show last week, though it was quiet on the smartphone front. It's definitely hard at work on some new products, however, and SamMobile said Monday morning that it has confirmed the specs for the Galaxy S5, and also revealed Samsung's plans for the Galaxy S5 mini and the Galaxy S5 Zoom.

Samsung's Galaxy S5 will allegedly launch in two variations, including one model with a metal body and a second model made out of plastic. This aligns well with earlier rumors that suggested Samsung was considering using more premium materials for its next flagship. Just last week we saw an alleged metal frame for the Galaxy S5, for example.

SamMobile said it has learned Samsung will launch the metal Galaxy S5 for about 800 euro, while the plastic Galaxy S5 will retail for 650 euro. That price will likely change drastically in the U.S. with a two-year contract. The phone is expected to offer a 2,560 x 1,440 screen resolution. SamMobile couldn't confirm the size but expects it to measure 5.25-inches. Other features allegedly include a Snapdragon 805 processor in some markets, and an Exynos 6 chip in others, a 16-megapixel camera and Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

Samsung is also reportedly working on a Galaxy S5 mini and a Galaxy S5 Zoom launch, both of which will launch after Samsung unveils the Galaxy S5. We're not surprised by those plans, since Samsung launched a bevvy of Galaxy S4 spin-offs, including the Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy S4 Active.
