Samsung's copper gold Galaxy S5 will reportedly be a Verizon exclusive—or at least hit the carrier first. The color—there's no avoiding it; it looks like a bandaid—was first introduced at the device's announcement in February, but hasn't made an appearance since. But that could change very soon, giving Verizon customers yet another option in addition to the existing white and black options. Got an ouchie? The bandaid phone will cure all your ailments. Also: where's the blue model?
All this is is a different color, nothing more—the specs are the same, so this isn't like the Harman Kardon M8 we saw announced for Sprint. It's unclear why the gold S5 took so long to come out, but if you were holding out, the time has come. When we first saw pictures of the iPhone 5s in gold, it looked gaudy and terrible, but it turned out to be nicer than expected. The Galaxy S5 in gold isn't so bad looking, but we'll see what the public opinion is when it launches.
We'll let you guys know as soon as the gold Galaxy S5 becomes official, and whether it'll be a Verizon exclusive or hit other carriers down the road. In the meantime, if you're unsure about picking up the S5, you can check out our review and also see how it stacks up against the HTC One (M8) below.
