Samsung Galaxy S III Jelly Bean Update

The Galaxy S III is one of the hottest smartphones for sale right now, but it's running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and not the newest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. It's not really that big of a deal, not to me anyway, since Samsung included a ton of awesome software enhancements on the phone. Still, the device will allegedly begin to receive the Jelly Bean update on August 29th, the same day that Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Note II at the IFA trade show in Berlin.

If Samsung does indeed announce the update, we're guessing it will still take time for it to float its way down to U.S. carrier-branded Galaxy S III units. Software updates need to be approved by each carrier individually, and that's why we usually need to wait a few months for the updates to officially launch. We'll be reporting from IFA live so, if Samsung does announce Jelly Bean, you'll be among the first to know it.
